Hi. I’m Melissa Nadia Viviana & this is one of my collections:

Truth: I didn’t expect Trump to win a second term, so I didn’t expect to be writing about politics in 2025.

I had created multiple collections, featuring many different genres. I’d even begun a new philosophy podcast.

I intended to fill them with blissful essays & episodes about the things that matter when a democracy is healthy and we can focus on our own personal progress and evolution.

Normally, those precious years in between elections are the most relaxing years for me. Admittedly, 2021 & 2023 were good years.

I wanted 2025 to be my relaxing year before the midterms.

To love my dogs hard. 🐕

To practice Moonlight Sonata on the piano. 🎹 To grow lots and lots of hydroponic veggies. 🌶 And I’d like to think in another multiverse, with Kamala Harris as our President, that’s exactly what I’m doing.

Alas, we entered the dumbest timeline. We entered a timeline of chaos and absurdity. And I wouldn’t be myself if I didn’t throw my hat in the ring & try to keep The Resistance motivated and compelled to keep going.

So here’s a little about me to get this going.

I’m an author, philosopher, activist, and childfree dog lady

  • Who voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016.

  • Who protested DJT 10-15 times in DC between 2017 & 2020.

  • Who voted for Elizabeth Warren in the 2020 Primary.

  • Who founded a non-profit to support Women In Government in 2021.

  • Who organized 3 Abortion Rights Marches in Savannah, GA in 2022.

  • Who was on the board of Georgia’s oldest LGBTQIA organization in 2023.

  • Who voted for Kamala Harris in 2024.

& who's still here in 2025.

I’m the first to admit that my actions and impact have been mild and humble. But my experiences in activism have changed & informed me. Most of all––they gave me the will to fight.

So I feel compelled to share occasional rants and insights about the ways that I make sense of this absurdity––while still persisting and believing in that progressive future we’ve been fighting for.

Come along for the wild journey!
